Ashley Nickerson, BSN, RN, IBCLC

Ashley is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Registered Nurse who received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2012. Ashley has spent most of her nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Unit working on the Neonatal Transport and charge nurse team while caring of at risk babies and their mothers. Since 2018, she has also been practicing as an IBCLC in the hospital, working with mothers and babies postpartum in the NICU and outpatient setting. She has experience creating hospital based lactation committees, staff education and hospital based policies to help provide more mothers with lactation support. Ashley completed the Tethered Oral Tissues specialty training (TOTS®) in 2021. She also has completed Dr. Gahari’s Untying Ankylossia (2023); as well as a Holistic approach to supporting sleep for breastfeeding dyads course. In January 2024 she will be taking PSI’s Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) exam.

After navigating exclusive pumping with her first son and overcoming oral restrictions and successfully breastfeeding her second, she is passionate about helping mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals no matter what they may be. One of her favorite quotes by Gina Carey is "A strong woman looks challenge dead in the eye and gives it a wink." That is the mindset she takes with achieving her personal goals and helping you achieve yours.

Ashley lives on a 35-acre mini farm in Woodruff with her husband, two boys, two puppies, highland cows and numerous other farm friends.
